I have been thinking about this collaborative sound project for a long time. If you work in 8mm or 16mm film, please read on and see if you would like to contribute.
There is something beautiful about the sound of film feeding through a projector. The sound of the projector is an integral part of the analogue film experience, it's also a sound I find very very relaxing. With so many film festivals existing as purely online experiences this year, I find myself longing for that sound.
With this in mind I am looking for contributors who can make some sound recordings of their film projectors. The collected recordings will be collated into a sound piece - or for some people - a relaxation recording. We will host the finished audio on our website and audio platforms, the website will also include a page that lists the name of the contributor, the make and model of the projector, a photograph of the contributor and projector, their location and where possible the name of the work they are projecting.
